Right Brain Vs Left Brain

This totally spookes you out. Look at it with a couple of friends around. You'll be surprised to hear conflicting replies about the direction!

'The Brain'

Quite amazing!

THE Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If you see this woman turning in clockwise you are using your right brain
If you see it the other way, you are using left brain.  Some people do see both ways, but most people see it only one way.

See if you can make her go one way and then the other by shifting the brain's current.

BOTH DIRECTIONS CAN BE SEEN

Experimentation has shown that the two different sides, or hemispheres, of the brain are responsible for different manners of thinking. The following table illustrates the differences between left-brain and right-brain thinking:

a

Left Brain
                      Right Brain

Logical                             Random
Sequential                       Intuitive
Rational                           Holistic
Analytical                         Synthesizing
Objective                         Subjective
Looks at Parts               Looks at wholes

Most individuals have a distinct preference for one of these styles of thinking. Some, however, are more whole-brained and equally adept at both modes. In general, schools tend to favor left-brain modes of thinking, while downplaying the right-brain ones. Left-brain scholastic subjects focus on logical thinking, analysis, and accuracy. Right-brained subjects, on the other hand, focus on aesthetics, feeling, and creativity…

I can actually see both. When I first looked I saw counter clockwise, then looked back and saw clockwise. No joke. Ok...just scrolled up to look again and it was back at counter clockwise. I think I can just flip it back and forth. Oh well.

Yeah, if I look down a bit and to the right and think about how I want it to go, it changes. Does that mean I'm weird? Hahah.

@sharad dude... wait for a few days.. If readers aren't lazy u'll get conflicting replies here as well... get a bunch of friends and look at the pic together... I could see it rotating both ways.. :P

:P looking forward.. It'll be fun and will give me an opportunity to ascertain that my left brain isn't working... lol

Same as Kenny. I can see it both ways. Saw it turn clockwise first, and then counter-clockwise. Now, with a little pratcice, I can pretty much see it either way.

Wow nischal that is so cool I've never seen anything like that.

this is a real trip. I just spent 20 minutes staring at it. At first I thought it was a trick and the graphic changes direction every 30 seconds or so. Then I did some experiments looking away and back at it and it kept changing direction at rapid intervals.

Very cool. For while I thought I was only going to see it turn clockwise, then by only looking at it's shadow I was able to see it start turning counter. Now I can switch it as I please! Nice to know both sides are functioning!

That's so amazing...saw both directions, predominantly clockwise and then found I could change it. The closest I have ever felt to having a super mind power. :)

Well Well... First I saw it rotating clockwise and then after a while anti-clockwise..

At first I saw Clockwise. Then counter-clockwise. Now, I'm able to control it by just closing my eyes for a second and sort of willing it to go the other way, and when I open them it's going whichever way I want it to. Another fine example of how we can control our reality.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing, Nischal!

nope not fake.. I was watching it with a co worker and he saw it clockwise while I saw it counter clockwise at the same time.. and then I saw it switch rapidly while he saw nothing happen... ie not an animation switch.

Yep, I knew it.....very right brained. That would explain a lot.

Indeed. Right brain. Does this make me feel better? In a way yes. Confirms what I suspected. However, would like to think I have a bit of logic (LOL). I could not make her turn the other way. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I saw her both ways and thought something was wrong. Then read the post and comments. I thought I couldn't control it, but noticed she changed directions when I blinked. Is that why I can see patterns, or did I just find one?

@Angela

Donno.. but the lady seems to be rude towards me.. nothing of that sort happens when I blink... May be I should wink ;o)

What a joke is? or is the figure to rotate or is the camera, hence the two possible directions, the lack of light and shadow allows it because it is a silhouette, but if you exceed the idea of an anatomical body, one sees that this is a form that bounces from right to left. rotation is only due to the association with the body. but you are all mad that you forget to stand by a two-dimensional screen?

Lol, Nishal, I'm still trying to figure it out, sorry, winking does not work! Neither does forced blinking; natural blinking changes direction for me. Interesting to know how dyslexic people see her?
Thank you 4 sharing, looking forward to reading more of your posterous :)))

so I can see both ways! when I look at it from a little distant, I see it going anti-clockwise then the closer I get I pay more attention it will switch to clockwise. weird but really cool.

Cool. I saw it both ways. When I first scrolled down it was counter clock wise. I read your post, scrolled back up some and it was clockwise. I'm not surprised. I often drift between liking the logical/left brain stuff, like stats, numbers, etc, but I also have my artistic creative side. I think I live on the left side too much sometimes.

I see it clockwise first, but if I focus on the hand waving around, it switches, and switches when I focus again. Weirdly, when I close my eyes, and reopen them, it goes in the same direction as I saw it go before shutting my eyes.

was for demonstrate my thesis of 12 sept ^... :

" ... The Spinning Dancer, also known as the silhouette illusion, is a kinetic, bistable optical illusion resembling a pirouetting female dancer. ... The illusion has been incorrectly[3] identified as a scientific personality test that supposedly reveals which hemisphere of the brain is dominant in the observer. ...

No matter what I do, it stays very firmly clock wise. I'm in my right mind ;-)

I have tried for five minutes but could only see the lady rotating clockwise, which means I am right brain oriented.

Have tried it again now almost a month later and still get the same results. It's only clockwise for me, no matter what I do.
